2014-07-04 Pack 39 & Troop 139 South Pasadena 4th of July Parade

South Pasadena’s annual Fourth of July celebration – the Festival of Balloons – was held throughout the day Monday as residents turned out in patriotic recognition of this year’s theme, “Democracy: A Marathon For Freedom.”

The festivities kicked off with a pancake breakfast and parade, followed by fireworks in the evening.

During the parade, dancers sashayed and floats journeyed down the route along Mission Street, while onlookers threw confetti and cheered the marchers going past.

2014 May 09 – Mother’s Day Dinner / Medieval Times

Tonight’s mother’s day Medieval Times Dinner Show was Fabulous.  I had A LOT of fun.  The performing boy scouts had a lot of fun.  I can tell from there acting.   The audience was involved and into it.  I came home tonight and started reflecting on tonight – very satisfying to see the boys enjoyed putting on a show.  Before tonight, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do another one because it is a lot of work.  After another successful activity, it’s time to continue with another.  We’ll have a luau next year.  Get your mumu and get ready for some Hawaiian dancing.  Another GREAT job by the boy scouts and the scout family audience.  All the moms, have a wonderful Mother’s Day Sunday.  Enjoy your special day.

2014-May 8: Prepping for Mother’s Day Dinner

Not only we had practice for a few hours but kids cubs scouts and siblings learned and made made made brownies, strawberry dipped chocolate and packaging as well.

With such big heart and talent, how can they not be love-able. & don’t worry moms they had test tasting making sure they taste good. 🙂

2014-April 28 : Candle Light Service

Another evening to have such great service for the Candle light service. As we brought together with our scouts and our families together to join for this beautiful ceremony. For those who has never been involved in a candlelight service, it was a special treat.

The cub scouts sing a song, the boy scouts sing a song, Timothy Chiu did several things (say the opening prayer, closing prayer, and say a praise/prayer), Alexander said a praise/prayer, and Matthew said a prayer in Hebrew.  Parent’s and family members were encouraged come to this service.  The candlelight service begin 7:30pm to 8:30pm.  The candlelighting was near the end of the service.  Scouts  wore Class A uniform, including neckerchief and slide.  Benches was all set up.

As our Cub Scout sang:

This Little Light of Mine

(TIGER/WOLF) This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
(BEAR/WEBELOS) This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
(ALL)This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
(ALL) Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine

Chorus:
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine

Light that shines is the light of love,
Hides the darkness from above,
Shines on me and it shines on you,
Shows you what the power of love can do.
Shine my light both bright and clear,
Shine my light both far and near,
In every dark corner that I find,
Let my little light shine.

Chorus:
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
(Chorus)
Monday gave me the gift of love,
Tuesday peace came from above,
Wednesday told me to have more faith,
Thursday gave me a little more grace,
Friday told me to watch and pray,
Saturday told me just what to say,
Sunday gave me the power divine
To let my little light shine.

Chorus:
(ALL) This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
(TIGER/WOLF) This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
(BEAR/WEBELOS) This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine.
(ALL) Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine (ALL) Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
